Equipment
IMC-AC and IMC-SCR (non-Performa) controllers with an SI2 or S25
digital drive containing an IMC-MB (motherboard) of date code 0303,
0305 and 0306. Purchasers of effected equipment will be contacted
directly regarding recall of all units. All controllers affected
were shipped between March and July of 2003.
Description
A manufacturing anomaly by an MCE subcontractor has resulted in
insufficient solder within the connectors on the motherboard of the
referenced units. The result is that the boards mounted to the
motherboard (IMC-DAS, IMC-DIO and IMC-GPA) may fail to make solid
connection, resulting in intermittent problems. These problems are
numerous, but it is possible that the safety of the controller may
be compromised.
Action
If your company had purchased any of the effected units, you will
be contacted by MCE to coordinate the recall of said motherboard
units. In order to retain any parameters already established, you
may retain the existing IMC-DIO, IMC-DAS, and IMC-GPA boards. All
motherboard units with the referenced date codes must be returned to
MCE.
Instructions for replacing your current units with the new ones
will be included with the new units when they arrive, along with
instructions for returning the original units to MCE.
