Equipment
All Non-Programmable Traction Control Systems designed for ASME
A17.2000 (B44) Code with MP software version prior to 8.01.00.
Description
In MP software versions prior to 8.01.00, we have recently
identified an error in our Emergency Brake logic. When the emergency
brake has been activated due to unintended motion or ascending car
overspeed, and, prior to resetting the emergency brake, the power is
removed, upon reactivation of power the emergency brake will
automatically reset. Code requires that, if the emergency brake is
activated prior to loss of power, it should remain activated when
power returns.
Beginning with software version 8.01.00 and in all subsequent
versions, the brake will not automatically reset under this
scenario. The emergency brake will require a manual reset as
specified in the code.
Action
If your company had purchased any of the affected units, you will
be contacted by MCE to coordinate the software recall along with any
possible hardware changes. All original software and hardware must
be returned to MCE.
Instructions for replacing your current software and hardware (if
necessary) will be included with the package, along with
instructions for returning the original software and hardware to
MCE.
